Talk to an EngineerWith so many vinyl extrusion lines, this vinyl siding company needed a low-cost, simple solution to cut vinyl siding to length without stopping. The solution was to chop up material as it came off the line at the startup of processes, without needing an exact length cut. They just needed a quick and dirty way to get rid of scrap. So Invent Automation stepped up and made it happen with our innovative, albeit a little scary, flying cutoff guillotine. By adjusting flow controls, the system would travel with the product at speed and quickly shear it. In this case, the customer incorporated our units with their safety system and built their own safety cage around the unit to save costs. Invent Automation is a team player, and we work with our customers in any way to help them Invent Automation success.
Low cost, check!
Flying cutoff knife, check!
No PLC required, check!
Um, let’s just say everyone was terrified of this machine.
This thing needed a huge volume of air, and we had to make a few upgrades to do the testing in-house.
